Hayley Miller: Masterclass & Performance
The University of Rhode Island Department of Music, flute faculty member Allison Parramore, and the URI Flute Studio are excited to welcome guest artist Hayley Miller to campus on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2025. We're kicking off Season 67 with Johann Sebastian Bach's Christmas Oratorio, a much-loved cantata setting of the Christmas story from the Annunciation through the Adoration of the Magi. A Chorus of Westerly favorite, it was last performed at Kent Hall in 2014.

Cayuga Chamber Orchestra
Journey through the sweeping landscapes of Romanticism in this evocative program of Mendelssohn and Brahms. The concert opens with Felix Mendelssohn’s The Hebrides, a musical postcard from the rugged Scottish coast. The mood turns inward with Mendelssohn’s beloved Violin Concerto in E minor, a work of lyrical intimacy and soaring virtuosity, performed by 2024 McArthur Grant Fellow Johnny Gandelsman.

Cobus du Toit: Flute Masterclass
Dr. Cobus du Toit, Associate Professor of Flute at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, will present a master class for the students in the studio of Allison Parramore, artist/teacher of flute at URI. Dr. du Toit is a native of South Africa and has soloed with orchestras around the world. Since 2010 he has been the principal flute in the Boulder Chamber Orchestra, Colorado. This event is free and open to the public.
