Some of the most searching music is of the diminutive kind. Tonight's program follows one such thread: Bach's intimate concerto for nine strings and continuo, Ravel’s orchestral arrangement of his piano hommage, Christina Courtin, who’s giant-proof, and our dear Schubert, another songwriter, who shows that our need for grand finales may be well overstated.
